The classic American film about IS corruption and disappointment and struggle for survival on the "mean streets", and most poignantly, the loss of love between two brothers.  In this--now endlessly parodied scene--between the two brothers in the back of a taxi, Terry (Marlon Brando) accuses  brother Charley (Rod Steiger)

Quote:
It was you, Charley. You was my brother. You should of looked out for me.  Instead of making me take them dives for the short-end money   . . .  I could have had class! I should have been a contender, instead of a bum...which is what I am.  Let's face it.

The corny-but-compelling dialog and the brilliant acting make us feel Terry's sense of betrayal and loss    . . .  BUT  is it good REBT ???

Hell no!  And with all due respect to this little bit of American high art, who wants to have a crack identifying the distortions, disputing, and replacing them with something more rational (albeit considerably less artistic)?  post your answers by replying to this topic.
