The classic CBT book which is replete with exercises for you to do and is standardly recommended for clients to use whilst in CBT is. It is one of the most useful self-help books I have:

Mind Over Mood:Cognitive Treatment Therapy Manual for Clients,
by C Padesky and D Greenberg, Guilford Publications, 1985

However, my favorite CBT style book is Wise Therapy by Tim Lebon.
It is an introductory book, easy to read, and covers such things as the meaning of life, how to develop enlightened values, make informed decisions and procedures for critical thinking used in CBT.

Wise Therapy: Philosophy for Counsellors (Regent's College) (Paperback)
by Tim LeBon (Author)
