Hi all,
If any of you have visited the REBT Central Forum recently http://www.rebtcentral.com , you will immediately have noticed that we have been inundated with SPAM, mostly ads for viagra and links to porn sites. Please accept my apologies for this.  It takes constant vigilance to prevent this stuff, and it is very time consuming to delete once it is up there. And, unfortunately, I have spread time and energy too thin over too many projects to attend to it properly.
If anyone wants to volunteer to be a moderator and delete this SPAM for us on a regular and consistent basis, I would be very grateful.
I have diligently followed every instruction from our hosting company on how to prevent this stuff, but it has not been successful. The other disappointment I have with our hosting company, is that our the posts are apparently not being picked up by Google, et al, and so there is very little new traffic to the forum other than by spammers and "spam bots."
There is a longer explanation, but for to cut to the chase, there is only one effective, long-term solution to both problems, which I have been avoiding like the plague and hoping I would not have to undertake. I have to change the location of the REBT Central Forum to the place where my other web sites are hosted (sorry for the "geek speak"), and use a completely different "brand" of forum; one that has better facilities for preventing SPAM, and dealing with it when it occasionally gets through.
This is a big disappointment to me but, fuck it, there is nothing left to do but move forward and accept that there are inevitably setbacks and frustrations in cyber space. The only question that remains is if the archives of the present forum are available to me, and if I can convert them to the new system. I am investigating now.
